Reliable metaverse service? - we’ve heard of it
by Pixeleen Mistral, National Affairs desk
The special care, high quality and reliability that has made metaverse service provider Linden Lab famous was in evidence today on both their resident web site and the login page in the second life client. Herald staff were bemused as the the second life client displayed a very Web 1.0 screen instead of the normal teaser for the 3D garden of cyber delights.
Close reading of the screen suggests that an unruly squid may be at fault. Sources suggest that a squid with no parents - or no parent cache anyway - had turned anti-social and left the metaverse for a sullen web 1.0 existence.
What may be the same same squid also apparently handles the community pages at the Second Life web site - attempts to visit https://secondlife.com/community/index.php were returning a similar screen.
The Herald implores Linden Lab to give that sad, anti-social squid some surrogate parents - or parent cache - or something - and some serious love. Clearly it is impossible to automatically keep an eye on these squids, and we are more than happy to help out when we notice them turning to the dark side. But without some Linden love soon we fear other squids may also go bad.
In related news, increasingly despondent Lab staffers were close to giving up hope and calling off their office-wide search for Philip’s missing hash pipe as they turned their attention to making up excuses for why they have impossible-to-monitor sullen squids living on the web servers that power the metaverse.
Sounds more like badly written snark than news.

Clearly Pixeleen has no idea what the parent and the "squid" non sense has to do with anything at all.
Seriously... don't pretend you know anything about it.

Does NO-ONE feel sorry for this neglected squid? I think if LL looked after their squids, we would not have them complaining to us about missing things.
