[As the Post 6 Photog, whenever I'm on the grid I have my eyes open for beautiful avatars. Shopping, clubbing, hanging out with friends- you never know when a gorgeous, or sophisticated, or sexy, or interesting avatar will appear, so I'm always scoping the people around me looking to bring you a face that's new and pleasing. I found that and more with this week's model, Silvana Lefevre. She is as smart as her avatar is beautiful, and as engaging as she is sexy. I know I'm in love with her and I hope you will be too. -- Timothy Morpork]
Hello boys and girls! I'm Silvana Lefevre, and this is the body I've created.
As I'm writing this I have no idea of how the pictures have turned out. Earlier snaps by the same photographer have been ill received by some of the critics, but I've decided to let mine be published regardless. Let's not call a rose by any other name: Second Life bodies are perfect yet imperfect and capturing them in still images is inately problematic. How a photographer and magazine decide to deal with that is their responsibility. If they are careless enough to make me look bad, let it be on their heads.
Besides, if perhaps beside the point, photographer Timothy has made the experience fun. Throughout the photoshoot he has been very sweet and complimentary. And while he openly admitted to hoping for sex afterwards he was quite content to settle for a cuddle and a kiss.
Anyway.
Me and my body...
I'm quite proud of it. That's why I vainly agreed to accept this place in the spotlight. I've spent a lot of time molding this body from a generic Linden shape. Some of it reflects what I see in the mirror, some of it is wishful thinking. I love how it has turned out and how graciously it moves sometimes. In certain dances, for instance, or in some of the better animated poses and AOs. Together with the hair and clothes I've been finding over the many months of my second existence it conveys a lot about how I feel and how I want to live my life. Any life.
But let's not get carried away. Bodies, their coverings and their movements are not without their problems in SL. Anyone who has ever jumped onto a set of sex balls with a partner will know what I mean: bodies get strangely broken into segments and parts move about frantically without ever exactly hitting the right spot. The visual part of SL wouldn't amount to much if it wasn't for the words we share: the uninhibited conversations under cover of a pseudonym, the sweet and dirty whispers in a lover's ear.
Can I tell you something funny?
I mean funny as in an observation that has had me puzzled for a bit.
A while back I was at a clothing store where the owner and designer was finishing some alterations on a dress I was buying. When I was about to change into my new clothes, I was embarrassed to strip before her. Embarrassed, moi...
It gave me a bad case of the giggles. I have been naked with more people than I can remember, in private and in public, and here I was -- too shy to strip in a couturier's store!
Apparently it's different getting naked when it's not for sex, and apparently I've come to identify with my body, my avatar, so much that I respond to everyday situations as I would in everyday life. (This last bit I read over and over, then decided to leave it as is.)
I doubt that I would ever in my real life have posed like this, but as it was, in Second with Timothy cooing around me, I felt pretty and comfortable. I hope it shows.

Wow.
After the photoshoot I had got a little worried. Timothy had been so sweet about his request that I hadn't bothered to see any previous posts, and then when I did -- oh boy. Herald readers are a critical lot.
But then I saw the photographs (before the post, but well after the "write-up", though it seemed a shame to post-edit that first bit). Wow. They show so much of me, and I don't mean just the physical bits.
And then the response. Wow again. So much praise. Thank you, thank you all.
You know what? I do believe that, for all the hullabaloo with which they sometimes present their arguments, Herald readers are a caring lot.
At the risk of being scorned for advertising after all, I'm telling you now that I'll definitely be following this publication.

Yup
agreed 'bout ime we had a photographer that hadn't smeared had his/her lunch on the lens first.
Somewhat worrying was the sleezeball attempt to have sex post-shoot.
#1 rule in glamour photography (RL)
"NEVER TOUCH THE MODELS"
Trust me on this.
Let your female assistant adjust her hair, put foundation on her boob moles; but don't ever touch them -unless you want to be a pornographer; in which case you are too cheap to afford sets and assistants, or even film sometimes.
Then make a date and bonk the hell out of her/him at your leisure.
See?
Simples?

i know about changing my clothes. i always run home and hide in my house which is very secluded. only time i did not go home to change my new clothes did not load and i was standing there with my fat gray bum hanging out for all of the world to see. i think some people even quit second life when they saw it. they never came back i am sure. it was trauma.

I have to say, this shape is a lot sexier than most of the "Barbie Girls" I see. She seems "real".
The one problem with a lot of the Post 6 Photos is we never see a back shot. Backs are sexy, as are butts.

@Karl Reisman: Show me yours and I'll think about showing you mine, Karl.
In the meantime, you may want to follow this lead I got from the New World Notes blog: http://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2009/06/butt-of-course.html
It's about a meme one SL blogger started inviting people to post tasteful back and butt shots in their blogs. Many followed up on his example, which will soon be followed by an exhibition.
